Children’s Hospital of San Antonio

Co’design was the landscape architect on a full service design team for a $20 million renovation to Christa Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital in San Antonio.

Funded by the Goldsbury Foundation, landscape renovations include a new entry plaza and a series of gardens surrounding the hospital – a play garden, prayer garden, and a culinary garden featuring a teaching kitchen and vegetable/herb displays. As the San Antonio Express-News reported, the teaching kitchen and garden are a first of its kind in San Antonio.

Here, in partnership with Culinary Institute of America San Antonio, the hospital offers nutrition and cooking courses to patients and the community as part of a coordinated educational effort to combat childhood obesity.

Co’design collaborated with Overland Partners Architects and WHR Architects.
