State Park Headquarters

Inks Lake Park is a Texas Hill Country gem with its lakeside shores, native riparian landscape and geologic rock outcrops that not only offer a place for recreation but also a peaceful retreat for park users.
Co’design collaborated with McKinney York Architects on the design of a new park headquarters where the building and landscape work seamlessly to highlight the unique beauty of the Park’s setting with an understated and sustainability minded approach.

The new headquarters feature a more efficient entry point for vehicular and pedestrian access, a small gathering space for ranger led programs, and gardens that display native plant species within groves of existing shade trees. In addition to people, the new landscape attracts our native co-habitants such as hummingbirds, butterflies, and other important pollinator species.
